REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN: A Spectacle of Strength and Community

Marking a triumphant return to the MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) for the second consecutive year, the REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN concluded on a high note this weekend. Held from 13 to 14 July 2024, this year’s event was built on the overwhelming response from its inaugural edition in 2023, attracting over 6,000 participants and spectators.

Supported by Rakan Muda, an initiative under the Ministry of Youth and Sports,  the partnership highlighted a shared commitment to fostering a culture of health, fitness, and community spirit across Malaysia. Rakan Muda’s involvement further enhanced the event’s visibility and appeal among young and active individuals throughout the region, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere and strong community engagement witnessed over the course of the two days.

The event also saw one lucky participant, Amanda Chen, as the new owner of a brand-new NISSAN Navara PRO-4X Pickup Truck. Returning as the title sponsor, NISSAN significantly contributed to the event’s success not only by sponsoring the lucky draw grand prize but also through substantial support that enhanced every aspect of the competition.

“More than just a competition,  REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN represents a commitment to fostering a strong, healthy, and engaged community. This year’s record participation by local and international fitness enthusiasts surpassed last year’s numbers, bearing testament to the event’s growing influence and the collective effort towards enhancing youth engagement and promoting a fit lifestyle across Malaysia,” said Callum Meehan, Events Director of REDLINE.

“We are excited to end today’s event with the giveaway of a NISSAN Navara PRO-4X that truly lives up to our tagline of No Task Too Tough. The NISSAN Navara PRO-4X, known for its strength and durability, perfectly aligns with the values of REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN and symbolises our commitment to excellence and adventure,” said Mr Daniel Ho Wai Ming, Group Chief Executive Officer, Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad.

REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN is a dynamic functional fitness competition designed to push participants’ physical and mental limits through a series of challenging workout stations. Each of the 12 stations rigorously tests various aspects of fitness, including cardiovascular endurance, strength, agility, and coordination. Central to the REDLINE concept is the idea of “redlining” – pushing oneself to the peak of physical and mental performance. This narrative not only drives the competition but also fosters a community spirit of resilience, personal achievement, and mutual support among participants.

To ensure inclusivity, the games featured a variety of categories to cater to different fitness levels: Singles Beginner, Singles Competitive, Singles Open, Doubles, and Team Relay. This diversity allowed participants from all walks of life to engage in the competition, from fitness novices to seasoned athletes, ensuring that every participant could find a challenge that suited their fitness journey.

In the competitive categories, the top performers were duly rewarded for their perseverance. In the Men’s Singles Competitive category, Marcus Funken secured first place, followed by Pierre Algret in second, and Nick Tisinger in third. The Women’s Singles Competitive category saw Claire Nesbitt taking the top spot, with Jasmine Miedl and Yi Zhen Lim finishing second and third respectively. The winners in both categories received cash prizes of RM 5,000, RM 2,000, and RM 1,000 for first, second, and third places respectively.

As the event drew to a close, plans for next year’s edition are already in motion, promising an even bigger and better experience for all participants. REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN will return for a third time in 2025, continuing its mission to promote fitness and foster community spirit among Malaysians.

“We would like to express our profound gratitude to all our partners who have been integral to the success of this event. Thank you to Rakan Muda and Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau for supporting the event. Additionally, a special thank you to our main partners – Anytime Fitness, Astro, Astro Gempak, AVIRON Racing, Concept 2, and Savage Gears; and to our supporting partners – 100 PLUS, citizenM, NOCCO, Sun & Sand Sports, Sunway Medical Centre Velocity, Therabody, and TRX,” Callum added.

All in all, REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN was a resounding success, setting new benchmarks for participation and community engagement. The event not only celebrated the dedication and achievements of its participants but also underscored the importance of collaboration in driving societal well-being and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

With the support of its partners and the community, REDLINE Fitness Games Powered by NISSAN is poised to continue its journey of empowering Malaysians through fitness and unity.
