From the Kitchen to Confidence: MAGGI®’s Wanita Cukup Berani Movement Empowers 4,000 Women (and Counting)

What started with a bowl of noodles has grown into a movement of courage. As MAGGI® celebrates 50 years of nourishing Malaysians, its Wanita Cukup Berani (WCB) programme enters its fourth year, continuing to inspire women across Malaysia to rediscover themselves, dream bigger, and turn everyday cooking into a pathway for change.

More than a campaign, WCB has become a sisterhood. Rooted in the Tak Kenal, Tak Cinta spirit, it connects women with mentors, digital training, and real-life business opportunities. So far, over 4,000 women have joined this journey, and MAGGI® is on track to reach 10,000 women and nurture at least 20 new food entrepreneurs by 2026.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, praised the programme for aligning with national goals of empowerment and equality.

“Once women discover what they’re capable of, they begin to love their journey, and they find the courage to go even further,” she said.

With support from partners like Google, TikTok, and the Ministry of Health, WCB bridges creativity, confidence, and digital know-how, proving that the right recipe for empowerment includes equal parts passion and partnership.

Nestlé Malaysia CEO Juan Aranols said the programme reflects the brand’s purpose beyond food:

“MAGGI® has always been about more than meals. Wanita Cukup Berani shows what happens when you bring empowerment into the heart of communities.”

Over the years, WCB has seen incredible alumni stories, from home cooks who found financial independence, to mothers who turned their recipes into small businesses.

“When we launched WCB, we realised most women already had the skills. They just needed confidence,” shared Ivy Tan, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI® Malaysia and Singapore.

This year’s mentors, Anne Idris, Alleena Abdullah, Chef Naem, and Ven Luan, continue to guide women through digital and business growth, both online and offline.

Because when women feel cukup berani, brave enough to take the first step, it doesn’t just change their story. It changes the world around them.
