The Spartan spirit was alive and roaring at Spartan Race Malaysia 2025 Kuala Lumpur Trifecta Weekend, where over 2,000 athletes from 30 countries battled mud, fire, and brutal obstacles at Gamuda Cove.
This year’s event wasn’t just another race, it marked a new chapter for Spartan Malaysia under the joint management of RUNRIO Thailand and SCORE Sports Management, kicking off a fresh era for the global obstacle race brand in the region.
Among the standout moments, Malaysia’s very own Saddam Pittli made a powerful comeback, clinching double wins in both the BEAST (21km) and SUPER (10km) elite categories. On the women’s side, Vietnam’s Kim Luu Linh dominated with back-to-back victories, calling it one of her “most meaningful races yet.”
The event wasn’t just about elite athletes from the Hurricane Heat 4HR to the Spartan Kids Race (which saw over 500 mini Spartans!), the weekend was packed with energy, teamwork, and grit. Even Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, 55, took on the course proving that age is no barrier to strength and determination.
According to SCORE CEO Patricia Tan, the turnout nearly 7,500 visitors in total, shows Spartan’s growing pull as a sport tourism powerhouse.
RUNRIO’s Boonperm Intanapasat echoed the sentiment, calling this the start of a three-year journey to make Malaysia a global Spartan hub.
