More Than Coffee, Starbucks Malaysia Wraps Up ‘Pass On Good Vibes’ with Stories of Kindness and Creativity

Starbucks Malaysia recently brought Malaysians together to celebrate the wrap-up of its heartfelt ‘Pass On Good Vibes’ campaign, an initiative that proved even the smallest gestures can spark meaningful connections.

At the core of Starbucks’ identity is a simple but powerful tradition: handwritten messages on cups. For decades, baristas writing names, notes, and short messages have symbolised Starbucks’ belief that coffee is not just about the drink, but about the human connection created around it. Each cup becomes an opportunity to engage, uplift, and make someone feel seen.

What started as a small expression of warmth quickly grew into a nationwide movement. Through Starbucks Cup Cards, Malaysians shared handwritten messages, thoughtful words, and imaginative illustrations, turning everyday coffee moments into stories of appreciation, encouragement, and shared joy.

A Platform for Positivity

More than a campaign, Pass On Good Vibes became a space for gratitude and creativity. Thousands of submissions poured in from across the country, reflecting how Malaysians pass on positivity in their own unique ways. From uplifting affirmations and heartfelt dedications to playful sketches, the entries showed how kindness can leave a lasting emotional impact.

“At Starbucks, we believe that we are more than just coffee, we create moments, connections and stories,” said Zakiah Hanim, Director of Marketing & Loyalty, Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company.
“Through our signature cup marking, we create meaningful interactions that set us apart. Every cup reflects our commitment to human connection, and every store serves as a welcoming ‘third place’, a home away from home.”

She added that the campaign celebrated voices and stories that often go unnoticed, and that Starbucks was deeply inspired by the sincerity and creativity shown by Malaysians throughout the journey.

A Celebration Brewed with Community

The campaign’s wrap-up celebration reflected Starbucks’ spirit of togetherness. Guests were treated to a curated coffee tasting session led by Coffee Masters from Starbucks Reserve IOI Mall Damansara, offering deeper insight into the craft, passion, and stories behind every cup.

The event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony honouring participants whose submissions stood out for creativity, originality, and emotional impact.

Winners Who Took Good Vibes Further

The Grand Prize went to Mr. Koh Jee Kian, who received:

  • A 4 days 3 nights trip to Tokyo, Japan
  • A guided tour of the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo
  • Starbucks merchandise worth RM500

Other winners enjoyed rewards including up to 365 days of free Starbucks coffee, merchandise, and preloaded Starbucks Cards.
