Elon Musk is not waiting in making changes at Twitter after successfully acquiring it. This time, he might bring back the popular platform Vine back.
Since purchasing Twitter, Musk is currently digging through the Twitter archives for ideas on how to make it better.
Engineers at the corporation have been instructed by his group to examine the Vine code in order to ascertain how much effort would be required to get the service back up.
Vine could be ready by the end of the year, Axios reports. Vine initially hit the ground running in 2013, after Twitter acquired it back in 2012. It had its own video-sharing app that is separate from Twitter.
However, the company fell after Instagram introduced videos on their platform. Soon after, Vine shut down entirely in 2016 and archived their videos. They later closed their archives in 2019.
On the other hand, Instagram continued to thrive, upgrading their Reels and allowing longer videos to be posted for sharing. YouTube also has a similar feature which is YouTube Shorts.
Musk will run into some problems in trying to revive a 5-year old closed down platform. A former worker from Vine said “This code is 6+ years old. Some of it is 10+. You don’t want to look there. If you want to revive Vine, you should start over.”
some free advice, from someone who worked at Vine and also led the shutdown of Vine.

Not only that, Musk also posted on his Twitter where he made a poll asking whether they should bring back Vine. The poll had almost 5 million voters with 69.6% agreeing that they should bring back the platform.
