Michael Jackson’s Nephew Is Set To Play Him In A Biopic

The King of Pop’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, will portray Michael Jackson in an upcoming biopic. The biopic, Michael, is under Lionsgate and will be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Graham King, the person who produced Bohemian Rhapsody, will also be a part of this biopic, following John Branca and John McClain.

Fuqua revealed the exciting news through his Instagram account:

The biopic will explore Michael’s life and career in becoming the King of Pop.

Commenting about the news of Jaafar’s casting in portraying the legendary musician, Michael’s mother is pleased. Katherine Jackson states, “Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.”

Throughout Michael’s career in the industry, he had 13 No.1 singles achieved to be on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. He gained popularity by being in a family band, The Jackson 5, where four of their songs also listed on the Hot 100.

As Michael became a solo musician, his album, Thriller became the best-selling album of all time. Before he got to make more music, he sadly passed away in 2009.

Michael’s nephew who is set to play him in the biopic is also a singer and songwriter. He is the son of his brother, Jermaine, who was also in The Jackson 5.
