KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May 2026 – Shanghai Fair Healthcare Malaysia 2026 officially opened today at Hall 1, Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), bringing together leading healthcare and medical technology companies from China with Malaysian healthcare stakeholders, distributors, hospitals and industry associations.
The inaugural two-day exhibition marks the first Malaysian edition of the Shanghai Fair Healthcare series and serves as a strategic platform to deepen healthcare collaboration between Malaysia and China, while introducing cutting-edge medical technologies to the Malaysian market.
The event features 73 exhibition booths, representing approximately 150 exhibitor representatives and a delegation of around 160 participants from China. To date, the organisers have received more than 1,000 registrations from Malaysian healthcare professionals, buyers, distributors and industry stakeholders.
Among the key supporters and participating organisations are the Medical Device Authority (MDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, Invest Selangor, Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malaysia Medical Device Association (MMDA), Malaysia-China Business Council and Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce.
Senior representatives attending the opening ceremony included Dr. Muralitharan, Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Device Authority; Mohamad Haris Abdul Latiff, Senior Manager of MATRADE’s China and Northeast Asia Section; Lim Kok Kuan, Manager of Invest Selangor’s Investment Development Division; Ms. Gertrude Ting, General Manager for Medical Device at DKSH and Treasurer of MMDA; and Dr. Lim Chong Ling, Chairman of MICCI Central Branch.
The exhibition highlights several high-growth healthcare segments including cardiovascular medical devices, medical robotics, artificial intelligence-assisted technologies and intelligent Traditional Chinese Medicine solutions. Many of the products showcased are being introduced to Malaysia for the first time.
Innovations on display include AI hearing devices, emotional companion robots, AI smart glasses for the hearing impaired, AI-assisted wheelchairs, hair transplant robots, oncology treatment systems, rehabilitation robots, medical aesthetic equipment, surgical robots for cancer and vascular procedures, and home-use moxibustion devices.

Business matchmaking is a major focus of the event, with more than 150 companies registered for one-on-one meetings and an estimated 100 or more business matching sessions expected over the two days.
Participating Malaysian buyers and healthcare institutions include Sunway Medical Centre, Tung Shin Hospital, ParkCity Medical Centre, University Malaya Medical Centre, Institut Kanser Negara, Lam Wah Ee Hospital, B. Braun, Easmed and Elco Medical.
Organisers said many exhibitors are actively exploring future partnerships, local investment opportunities and joint ventures in Malaysia as they seek to expand their presence in the country and the wider Southeast Asian region.
Shanghai Fair Healthcare Malaysia 2026 is open to trade visitors and the public on 22 and 23 May 2026 at Hall 1, MITEC. Admission is free.
