BUNGA 2026 Officially Blooms at Resorts World Awana with Asia’s Finest Orchid Showcase

Genting Highlands, 3 June 2026 – Resorts World Awana today officially welcomed the opening of BUNGA 2026, Malaysia’s highest flower exhibition and the inaugural international orchid and floral festival, marking the beginning of a five-day celebration dedicated to orchids, botanical artistry and nature-inspired experiences.

Held from 3 to 7 June 2026 at Awana Village, T2 Exhibition Hall, BUNGA 2026 brings together leading orchid societies, growers, hybridisers and collectors from across Asia in a vibrant showcase set against the cool highland landscape of Resorts World Awana. Guests at the launch were among the first to experience the festival’s immersive floral displays, botanical marketplace and orchid-themed experiences across the venue.

In his welcoming speech, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Public Relations at Resorts World Genting, shared that BUNGA 2026 represents a significant milestone in positioning Malaysia as a growing destination for orchid appreciation, botanical tourism and regional horticultural exchange.

“BUNGA 2026 is more than a floral exhibition. It is a celebration of creativity, culture, conservation and the shared passion for orchids that connects communities across Asia,” he said. “This vision reflects our continued commitment at Resorts World Genting to develop nature-led experiences that go beyond entertainment and contribute to more sustainable forms of tourism.”

He added that Resorts World Genting has continued to expand its eco-tourism offerings through initiatives such as Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park and Genting Nature Adventures, which encourage visitors to engage more meaningfully with biodiversity, conservation and the natural environment.

As the opening chapter of a larger floral festival journey leading towards the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC) 2028, BUNGA 2026 further strengthens Malaysia’s growing presence within the international orchid community. The prestigious APOC conference, set to take place at Resorts World Genting from 17 to 26 March 2028, will also mark the first time the event is hosted by a private corporation.

Asia’s Orchid Excellence on Display
One of the major highlights of the festival is the International Orchid Showcase and Competition, featuring exhibitors from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia and Brunei. Visitors can explore immersive floral landscapes, collector hybrids and artistic botanical presentations curated by some of Asia’s most respected orchid societies and growers.

Among the participating exhibitors are the Taipei Orchid Society, Thailand’s Damrong Star Orchid Society and award-winning hybridizer Chulee Orchid, alongside Vietnam collector Nguyen Anh Tuan, Indonesia’s Orchid Community, and Malaysia’s Orchid Society of Selangor & Federal Territory and the Federation of Malaya Orchid Society. Also participating are Singapore’s The Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA) and Brunei’s Jasmina Florist & Landscaping Co.BUNGA 2026 also featured Mr Home from Thailand, an internationally recognised horticultural figure with expertise in exotic plants and global trade.

International Orchid Competition Winners
The official launch ceremony also featured the prize presentation for the International Orchid Competition, recognising outstanding excellence in orchid cultivation, presentation and landscape design.

The Orchid Landscape Competition saw participants transform exhibition spaces into immersive orchid environments inspired by nature and botanical storytelling, while the Individual Orchid Competition featured entries judged across multiple sections and classes according to species, hybrid, size and form. In addition to orchids, the festival also highlighted the growing appreciation for tropical foliage through its Exotic Plants Competition, featuring categories such as monstera, philodendron, anthurium and platycerium.

Beyond the Exhibition Halls
In addition to the main showcase, visitors can also experience a botanical marketplace featuring orchid growers, floral artisans, specialty botanical merchandise and plant lifestyle offerings. Visitors can immerse themselves in a lively marketplace atmosphere including rare orchid finds, botanical décor, gardening inspirations and floral-inspired creations that celebrate the growing culture surrounding the theme of the event.

Beyond the main exhibition, visitors can also explore a series of complementary botanical and lifestyle experiences designed to deepen appreciation for orchids and nature. These include Bloom Beyond BUNGA, an immersive orchid storytelling experience housed within Malaysia’s largest floral glasshouse Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park, alongside Forest for the Future: Orchid Stories by Genting Nature Adventures (GNA), featuring educational interpretation stations focused on orchid conservation, adaptations and biodiversity awareness.

Nature enthusiasts can also participate in Wild Orchid Explorer, a guided rainforest exploration experience led by GNA that brings participants through preserved highland forest trails in search of wild orchids within their natural habitat. In addition, Orchadia introduces a premium botanical lifestyle experience, combining botanical hospitality, orchid-inspired dining, workshops, and elevated floral experiences within a luxury greenhouse-inspired environment.

Throughout the five-day festival period, Orchadia will host specially designed programmes including orchid masterclasses, botanical hi-tea experiences, coffee and tea appreciation sessions, chef-led farm-to-table conversations, and an exclusive Rare Orchid Auction.

Ticketing and Staycation Packages
Tickets to the floral festival are priced at RM30, while bundle admission to both BUNGA 2026 and Eufloria is available at RM60. Senior citizens can enjoy a special walk-in rate of RM20. All entry tickets include RM10 worth of redeemable meal credits during the exhibition period.

Visitors planning to extend their floral getaway can also enjoy the specially curated Bunga Bloomscape Staycation packages available at selected hotels across the resort. Valid for stays from 3 to 6 June 2026, the packages combine accommodation, festival access and highland leisure experiences, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Malaysia’s Highest Flower Exhibition throughout the festival period.

Participating hotels include Resorts World Awana, First World Hotel, Genting SkyWorlds Hotel and Highlands Hotel (formerly known as Resort Hotel), offering guests a variety of stay experiences across the resort, with prices starting as low as RM81 per night.

Each package includes with two entry tickets to BUNGA 2026 at Awana Village, Resorts World Awana. Guests staying at Resorts World Awana will also enjoy additional dining privileges with Superior Deluxe and Superior Deluxe Sixer room bookings.
